About Lucas Equine Equipment
Since 1981, Lucas Equine Equipment has established and maintained a reputation for designing and manufacturing the highest quality custom made horse stall components in the world. We continue to succeed because of our unique combination of service, experience, custom designs and exceptional quality.
Our goal is to meet our customers demand for the highest quality design, fabrication and finish in horse stall components.
The Premier Stall Builder
With a history rooted in horse stalls, horse stable equipment, paddock gates and more, Lucas Equine Equipment takes its name from Mr. Lucas who started a company in Cynthiana, KY that built paddock gates for the local horse farms in nearby Lexington, Kentucky.
In 1981, Dana Looker purchased Mr. Lucas' business and, with a three-man welding shop, set a goal to provide the local market with quality, custom manufactured gates, doors and grills.
Architects and builders quickly picked up on Lucas Equine Equipment’s unique expertise in building horse stall components that met the demanding specifications of the local farm owners. With the support of these building professionals Lucas Equine Equipment's growth exploded.
The original facility could not handle the demands of the business and ground was broken for a new facility in 1995. Fourteen employees followed Dana to the new shop. A second building was erected on the campus in 2000. Lucas Equine Equipment now provides about three dozen employees and their families with job security and benefits.
Today, in our almost 70,000 square foot facility, we’re proud to continue our heritage of providing the highest quality product for the equine industry to horse enthusiasts throughout the world.

Today, as company president, Mike oversees all areas of the business. Still very closely connected to the barn equipment business, Mike can be found most days poring over complex barn plans, visiting the plant floor, or walking the aisleways of barns across the country.
Mike's strong relationships with the country's leading barn architects and builders make him an invaluable resource in the industry. With hands-on experience in everything from stall design to welding to installation, he understands how to translate the needs of horses and horse owners into the ideal stall system. Mike is a lifelong Kentucky resident who lives in Cynthiana with his family and spends his spare time enjoying their company at the lake.

Tom Wilson
Architect
An experienced architect who has been designing Lucas Equine Equipment stalls for 27 years, Tom is a wizard when it comes to CAD drawings. Taking even the most basic customer sketch on a scrap of paper and transforming into a detailed CAD drawing, you'll see Tom's handiwork when you receive your custom Lucas Equine concept drawings for approval.
Tom's great vision extends to his favorite hobby: photography. He can often be found capturing nature scenes, horses and other subjects with his camera.

Charles Koch
Materials and Shipping Manager
Charles cut his teeth with horses growing up on the famous Stoner Creek Stud, Windfields, and Claiborne Farms around breed-shaping thoroughbreds like Northern Dancer, Secretariat, and Mr. Prospector. After college and a stint under Thoroughbred Hall of Fame trainer Dick Mandella, he returned to a management position at Claiborne for 15 years, operated his own farm, and spent nearly a decade running Lake Horse Transportation, a nationwide van service.
Along with his lifetime of horse experience, Charles brings logistic and communication skills to Lucas in his position as Production Coordinator…ensuring your project moves seamlessly from blueprints and raw material to fabrication and delivered goods.
Charles and his wife, Katie, love living in Cynthiana where they stay busy raising their three daughters, are active in their church, and enjoy rooting for their rival alma maters, Kentucky and Indiana.
